ReActor Factory

While there was understandably a lot of publicity and interest in the very successful production of The Elephant Man, running in tandem has been another MMuDS project. The ReActor Factory. This project has been running for eight weeks and has been giving the twenty seven young people attending a glimpse into the world of the performing arts. The youngsters have worked with several MMuDS members in developing their singing skills, learning a dance number, getting a hands on look at all elements of the production side of a play, playing theatre sports and working together in teams to write their own scripts, find or create their own props. All this culminates in a performance for their parents and friends next Wednesday evening (14th September). It really is exciting to see how this group of young people have thrown themselves enthusiastically into the project and we know there are going to be a lot of proud parents when they see the culmination of these 8 weeks. None of this would have happened without the hard work of Bernie, Erica, Liam and Suzie, who developed the program and managed all the sessions as well as being mentors to the youngsters. It also would not have happened without the support of the parents. MMuDS is very proud of this project and we can see the time, in the not too distant future, that you will see some of these youngsters on stage in a MMuDS production but until then we can’t wait to see all their hard work come to the stage next Wednesday.
