Fire & Ice

I had a really nice time today listening to The MAD orchestra and The MAD Strings perform their Fire and Ice concert. It was wonderful to again hear orchestral music fill St Andrew’s Hall and equally wonderful to see the Hall filled with a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience. The musical program had so many highlights but my personal ones were Grainger’s “Australian Up-country tune” “A Keltzer Karnival” and the “Westside Story” arrangement. The MAD Strings performed pieces from Handel, Bach, Motzart and Corelli and reminded us yet again of the genius of these composers. Congratulations to Monica, the Orchestra and Strings for a musically joyful way to spend a cold winters afternoon.
