The Tale of a Crimson Rosella

A Few days ago, at the time of writing this, I was walking home from my regular outings to our local Wetlands when I saw this lovely Crimson Rosella standing quietly amongst the dappled light. Where I live the Crimson Rosella is common to see and sometimes that means when people see the image they take it and the bird for granted. I am glad this lovely bird is not amongst the endangered and so I can still enjoy its beauty and its quiet nature. With bird flu now in Australia I will never take any of our wonderful birds for granted and neither should you.. With life being financially harder for many people instead of fretting over why you can’t have that overseas holiday why not take a trip to your local park or wetland and enjoy watching birds like this going about their day. You may enjoy it and better yet it won’t impact your battered finances. And finally it may give you a greater appreciation of what you have rather than felling discontented with what you don’t. Let the Crimson Rosella represent the end of conspicuous consumption and consumerism driven by corporations and advertisers trying to keep you discontented with your life. but find meaning in the simple pleasures of being alive amongst the beauty of the natural world.

A Crimson Rosella. Standing in the dappled light.
